I am writing to apply for the Special Education Teacher position. I am a certified Special Education teacher (Mild to Moderate Disabilities) with six years of experience working with students in kindergarten through fifth grade, and I would welcome the chance to bring that background to your team.
In my current role, I manage a caseload of 14 to 18 students, writing and overseeing Individualized Education Programs and developing Behavior Intervention Plans tailored to each learner's needs. I use IEP Direct and i-Ready to track goals and academic progress, and I rely on ongoing data tracking and progress monitoring to adjust instruction throughout the year.
Collaboration is a core part of how I work. I co-teach alongside general education teachers, participate in Response to Intervention processes, and supervise two paraprofessionals to ensure consistent support across the classroom. I also hold monthly parent conferences to keep families informed and engaged in their child's progress.
I would welcome the opportunity to discuss how my experience with IEP development, behavior planning, and collaborative co-teaching can support your students and staff. Thank you for your time and consideration.
